- Buy the largest Amaryllis bulbs you can find. Plant them now for a late December/early January bloom.
- Depending on the size of the bulb, use a 4-6 inch pot and fresh potting soil. One third of the bulb should be showing above the rim of the pot.
- Water well and when growth appears, move your bulbs to a sunny location and water more frequently.
- You may need to stake the stalks if they get floppy.
- Good quality bulbs should produce two flower stalks with four flowers on each stem.
- Buy several bulbs and stagger the planting time to have a longer display.
