The Broadmoor Garden Club held a superb GCA Flower Show on June 7-8. Titled “London Calling,” the schedule called for entries inspired by Royal London. Bonnie Grenney was in charge of the judges, who came from all over the country, and included GCD members Hope Connors, Missy Eliot and Sissy Gibson.
Several intrepid Garden Club of Denver members entered the GCA show. Bonnie and BGC member Lucy Lewis won third place with their fabulous all-white entry.
Suellen White won third place with her lovely photo of a Swedish castle, while Angela and Bonnie tackled the Royal Crown Jewels miniature arrangement class winning third place. You can see Wendy White’s exquisite tiny flowers in the photo below of her great entry. Missy Eliot won second for her window box, first in Cuts for her Pink Campion and second place for her Centaurea Montana. Cindy Scott’s mother entered her Rhododendron and won a GCA award.
The competition was tough! The next time Broadmoor has a flower show, more Garden Club of Denver members should enter. It is a great learning experience and the Broadmoor members are wonderfully welcoming and kind.
