Members of the Garden Club of Denver: Suellen White, Mary Fowler, Joanne Sinclaire and Lisa Duke, as well as Lisa’s mother, Prudence Walker, of the Broadmoor Garden Club, travelled to Virginia Garden Week in April, 2016. They spent two days in Clark County and two days in Orange County touring museums, historic houses and gardens. They also were fortunate to see some gorgeous and sometimes quite extensive private estate gardens in both places. They ended their time in Virginia visiting Monticello, the home and gardens designed by Thomas Jefferson. It was a fitting and inspirational ending to a beautiful trip. Below are some highlights of the tours and a quick peek at the gardens and landscapes of Monticello. The group barely scratched the surface of what this week-long event has to offer across the state, so we would wholeheartedly recommend repeat visits by club members.
